Eric E. Howarth

Eric Howarth has been the Golf Course Superintendent at Westbrook Country Club since 2005. Before that he served as Assistant Superintendent from 1995 to 1999, and again from 2004 until he was promoted to Superintendent. After deciding to pursue golf course management as a career in high school, Eric attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Agronomy with a specialization in turfgrass management. He furthers his education by accumulating education credits to maintain a Class A membership in the Golf Course Superintendents’ Association of America. He also attends classes and seminars to maintain a Commercial Pesticide Applicators License. Eric came to Westbrook with extensive experience in the golf course industry. He has been maintaining turf on golf courses for over 27 years. Eric began his career path at his hometown course, Kettenring Country Club in Defiance, OH in 1988. He then worked through college on the staff at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, where he helped renovate the greens and bunkers. During the spring and summer of 1993, Eric interned at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE. There he helped polish the course for a nationally televised LPGA event. Between stints as the Assistant at Westbrook, Eric served as the Assistant at Cantigny Golf & Tennis Club in Wheaton, IL.

Some of Eric’s proudest career moments come from the recognition he has received for presenting excellent playing conditions for events including, but not limited to a LPGA McDonald’s Championship, an Illinois State Amateur, an Ohio Mid-Amateur, several PGA Junior Series events, and numerous member events and outings. He was also honored by being invited to speak at the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation annual conference to share his experience with his peers and his extensive knowledge in the turf industry.

Eric’s family consists of his wonderful wife of 14 years, Erin; a nine-year-old daughter, Sadie; and a six-year-old daughter, Courtney. They thoroughly enjoy coming to “Daddy’s work” for cart rides. You may see them occasionally riding along as Eric inspects the course.

Eric M. Stigall

Assistant Superintendent Eric M. Stigall has been apart of the turf industry since he was sixteen years old. Beginning his career at a locally owned family golf course, Eric joined the Westbrook family in 2011 where he has been ever since. Pursuing excellence in effort Eric has strived to continually grow and gain knowledge in the industry. Eric is certified in plant genetics with an emphasis in turf, aquatics and holds a B.A and a B.S. Eric spends his free time playing classical piano, golfing, and enjoying time with family and friends.
